Description

INTRODUCTION

A different signal is used in its place, ideally on the same post, if a signal is not visible to the driver due to the existence of an impediment, such as an overbridge or a high structure. This signal, referred to as the co-acting signal, functions in tandem with the original signal as an exact duplicate.

A repeater signal is placed in a suitable location behind the main signal when a signal cannot be seen by the driver from a sufficient distance due to a severe curve or for any other cause, or when the guard of the train cannot see the signal from his position at the back of a platform.
