UBA Forum mobil & nachhaltig 2024

Freight transport is a rapidly growing transport segment and causes considerable environmental pollution due to increasing transport distances and volumes. The transportation of goods by ship, plane, truck and train not only generates considerable greenhouse gas emissions, but also causes noise, air pollutants, land and resource consumption.

To reduce these negative environmental impacts, the Federal Environment Agency is developing a vision for environmentally friendly freight transport. This involves drawing up scientifically based recommendations for politicians and society on how freight transport can be avoided, shifted and handled in a more environmentally friendly way.

7. Eurailpress-Forum

This year, alternatively powered vehicles have once again taken on a significant role for regional rail transport. At past events, questions about vehicle technology and charging options were answered. The choice of the right drive and charging concept as well as organizational and financial issues were also discussed.

The 7th Eurailpress Forum “Alternative drives in regional rail transport” will take place on 25.06.2024 at the Empire Riverside Hotel and follows on from the six previous forums. The program will soon be available on our website and registration will then be possible.

The event will again take place as a hybrid event. Participation on site in Hamburg is just as possible as participation in the digital livestream from the (home) office. In addition to the specialist presentations, participants will also be able to exchange ideas.

From September 18 to 20, 2024, the 20th International Rail Vehicle Conference Dresden will take place at the International Congress Center Dresden, located next to the Maritim Hotel on the Elbe. This conference will be jointly organized and held by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Dresden University of Applied Sciences, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Dresden University of Technology and DVV Media Group GmbH | Eurailpress, Hamburg.

In fall 2023, we will send an e-mail with the Call for Papers to our previous conference participants asking them to submit presentation proposals and publish the information here. We look forward to receiving presentation proposals with a meaningful short description by mid-January 2024.

24. Internationaler SIGNAL+DRAHT-Kongress

The nationwide rollout of ETCS is getting closer. It is becoming increasingly clear that a holistic view of all aspects of the digitalization of rail transport is essential for successful implementation. How can the infrastructure be equipped successfully? How will the vehicle equipment not only be financed, but also organized? How can upward compatibility with automated driving be ensured? And what is happening in other European countries?

iaf - 29. Internationale Ausstellung Fahrwegtechnik

iaf 2022 has come to a successful end. 140 exhibitors from 17 countries and no fewer than 12,175 international trade visitors from 80 countries and all continents, a large number of high-quality technical seminars in the iaf Salon, a very well used job exchange and, above all, 32 modern and innovative large machines in the outdoor area of the trade fair, many of them absolute world premieres. iaf 2022 thus more than lived up to its motto and impressively underlined its status as the world’s leading trade fair for track technology.

But after the trade fair is before the trade fair: in just three years, the 29th International Exhibition of Track Technology will take place in Münster from May 20-22, 2025. Even then, the iaf will fulfill its role as a “technological driving force for the railroad construction industry” and present a large number of world premieres and innovations.

Purchasing professionals, specifying engineers, railroad employees, and other railroad influencers (e.g. other railroad staff, government regulators, representatives from municipalities, members of the trade press, university students) comprise the other portion of attendees, making Railway Interchange a focused, vibrant, engaged, and information-driven audience.
